2011 New York Trip-Day 6 – 07/25/2011 / 75458 / 3:30pm
Beaver Creek, MN rest stop. I talked to the person manning the desk for a while. Turns out she had the same GPS problem I had. She was glad to hear about the reset. She gave me some nice route pointers – one that will take me through the Minnesota wine country (who knew there was one) and a detour that should help me avoid the Chicago traffic. She also gave me road maps for Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois as well as a bunch of brochures on where to stay and things to see. It would be nice of California had rest stops like South Dakota and Minnesota. It turns out I timed this trip just right. She said that they just re-opened the visitor centers last week when the state finally passed a budget.
