2011 New York Trip-Day 2 - 07/21/2011 / 11:00 / 73665-73676
Kolob Canyons – this place is part of Zion National Park.  There is a really nice 4 mile drive into the canyon.  The views are spectacular.  There is a number of hiking trail heads off of the drive.  Where the drive loops around for the return, there was a 1 mile hiking trail.  I heard someone say that you could see the Grand Canyon from the end of the trail.  I almost did the hike . . . but it was 90+ degrees, I did not have my hiking shoes on, no sunblock on, I had no idea how difficult the climb was, and I could not get 127 Hours out of my mind. . . so I decided to be wise and walked back to the car instead.  I can definitely see the attraction of hiking in the area.
